We seek to publish a series of illustrated, lively read-aloud children’s chapter books that introduce young yogis to the yogic principles (beyond the yoga postures) through a curious little llama’s quests to test the boundaries of her world. In each book, she inadvertently gains wisdom from friendly animal guides she finds along the way. We are delighted to soon offer our first to be published book, Llamas and Niyamas: Yoga Fables for Young and Old, which introduces young yogis to the niyamas—healthy practices for life. In each story she meets an animal guide who embodies one of the niyamas.

Llamas and Niyamas is an enchanting, full-color picture book that brings yoga philosophy to life through captivating animal characters and their mindful lessons.
Designed for readers of all ages, the short stories of this delightful book seamlessly blend engaging storytelling with valuable yoga principles, promoting mindfulness, compassion and self-care. With its expressive llama sounds and vibrant illustrations, these yoga fables are a perfect gift for families, educators, or anyone beginning their yoga journey. Size: 6" x 9", suitable for cozy read-aloud sessions with little ones.
Like most young llamas, Amal gets tired of being told what to do. The rules just don’t seem fair! One day, she impulsively ignores her mom and, instead of cleaning her room, takes matters into her own two-toed feet and sneaks out for some adventure.
She meets Śauca, a raccoon busy washing her fur and food in a stream. With her new friend’s gentle example, tidying up suddenly makes sense and Amal hurries home to straighten things out with Mama.
In each following chapter, Amal learns a new niyama:
· contentment from Santoṣa the bear,
· commitment and discipline from Tapas the beaver,
· self-study from Svādhāya the coyote, and
· trust and surrender from Īśvara-Praṇidhāna the spider.

Reviews
Llamas and Niyamas beautifully translates the niyamas into stories that are warm, joyful, and gently offered. The young llama is spirited, relatable, and just feisty enough to feel wonderfully real, while her kind and supportive animal guides embody these observances with charm rather than preachiness. Introducing such timeless yogic wisdom in childhood plants powerful seeds of self-awareness, steadiness, and compassion that can stay with a child for a lifetime. This is a delightful and meaningful contribution to children’s literature.
